Accounts Assistant

£20,000 to £25,000 + 33 Days Holiday

We could look at an office Junior perhaps looking for your 2nd role or at the other end of the scale perhaps somebody with lots of office/accounts experience looking to return to work after having children and looking for a role to take you to retirement, or anything in-between ..  more important is your friendly professional personality and work ethic.

The vacancy would suit someone looking for a role where you will be well respected working in a very smart traditional office environment, within a company who believe in looking after their staff and in return receive loyalty and confidentiality. If you feel this could be you perhaps you are returning to work after having family or simply looking for somewhere you can settle down for a long term career. Experience along with a good work ethic and attitude is much more important than qualifications – any areas you are not familiar with can be explained and training given once you are on board. Confident with Excel, you will be sharing a variety of tasks working within a professional, fun team of 10,  however you will take personal responsibility for the following tasks ..

·         Processing credit card expenses

·         Foreign currency and petty cash

·         Provide cover for credit insurance and KYC checks.

·         Help with processing the bank account transactions and reconciling the bank accounts

Updating fixed asset registers

·         Assistance with processing journals and holiday /sickness cover for purchase ledgers

Working on a full time and permanent basis Monday to Friday (8.45 am – 5.00 pm) you will contribute and support the Manager in a wide range of activities.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE SORT:

Essential:

· General experience working in an accounts/finance office environment.

· Experience of computerised accounting systems.

· Familiar and basis understanding of Microsoft Office Excel

· Ability to prioritise and work to calendar determined deadlines.

· Ability to communicate confidently and competently within our organisation.

·

·         Experience of working in a busy office environment

·         Fully computer literate including word and excel

·         Excellent organisational skills

·         Personable and confident nature

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have:

· Experience of working within a manufacturing organisation.

· AAT or equivalent training

Personal qualities:

· Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills.

· Organised and methodical in their work.

· Eye for detail.

· Team player.

· Good work ethic, sense of humour and flexible attitude.

Formal qualifications could be an advantage but are not essential as we attach more importance to being “qualified through experience”.
